Thanks to the latest post on Medium product updates by Breana Jones, I just checked my iPhone’s App updates and downloaded the latest version of Medium.
Mobile editing is back!
When you go to your profile in the app, there is a “plus” sign at the right-hand bottom.
Click on it and you will see “Drafts” at the top right.
It appears that if you have an existing draft, the app allows you to update it, or you create a new story.
You will find all the editing options below:
Press once for the bigger “T” for title/headings and press twice for the smaller “T” for subheadings.
Likewise, press once or twice the quotation icon to suit.
To insert a link, you can select the words and then look for the link button in the menu.
You can bold or make the text italic.
To finish the story, press “Next”
You can choose your tags, which are limited to the topics you currently follow.
Then you can choose to meter or not.
Then press “Post”!
As you can see, this post is done swiftly using my mobile phone.
After you have published, you can click on the 3 dots next to the headline of your post to edit.
Expecting more improvements
We can continue to comment on Breana Jones’ post to provide our feedback, so expect more improvements to come. Ideally we should be able to:
- Put a caption for any image.
- Write in any topics/tags we want and be able to delete and amend the topics.
- Be able to add the story to the publication I want it published.
I definitely enjoy this flexibility of creating post and editing on the go.
In closing, I would like to share an anonymous quote:
You live, you learn, and you upgrade.
Enjoy!
